Spiritual Significance of Laxmi Puja | Happy Laxmi Puja Wishes
Many perform a Laxmi Puja on the day of Diwali… Hence today, let’s understand the spiritual significance of Laxmi Puja!
The process of Laxmi Puja!
Every Puja starts by worshipping Shree Ganesh… Hence, when we become an embodiment of wisdom & virtues (like Shree Ganesh), we ourselves become capable of destroying our obstacles (Vighna Vinashak)!
The idol is seated on a special asana (seat)… Similarly, let us also stabilise in the elevated Seat of Self Respect!
The idol is washed using panchamrut (i.e., a combination of honey, milk, curd, ghee & sugar):
- Milk denotes purity
- Honey & Sugar denote sweetness
- Curd & Ghee denotes health & prosperity respectively
The idol is first washed, then tilak is applied, then the idol is adorned with a garland, then fruit is offered… Hence, when we clean our mind (washing) through the awareness of our true original identity (tilak), our life becomes fragrant with virtues (garland), earning us everyone’s respect! (fruit)
Becoming an embodiment of divine virtues!
Through the Puja, we’re actually worshipping the divinity within Goddess Lakshmi… Hence, let’s also inculcate the same divinity & virtues in ourselves!
Indeed, like we perform the aarti (which is basically a lighted flame) in front of the deity… Similarly, let’s ignite the flame of soul-consciousness, to automatically emerge all the divine virtues within us!
Some perform Laxmi Puja with the aim of getting blessings from the goddess throughout the year (i.e., to ensure wealth keeps coming to them throughout the year)… Hence here, it’s important to understand that Shri Lakshmi actually means the one who inculcates elevated Lakshan (i.e., qualities)… Hence denoting that when we’re full of the wealth of virtues inside, the physical wealth comes running after us (i.e., it becomes very easy to earn physical wealth)
Starting a new account!
On this day, some close their old accounts & start a new account… Hence, let’s close our old accounts of sorrow & wrong actions, & start a new account of pious actions & happiness!
Many put a Swastik on their accounts, which means:
- Swa (self) + Astik (realization) i.e., Swastik means self-realization..
- Which makes it very easy to keep our swa-sthiti (state of mind) elevated!
- Swastik also denotes the 4 phases of the world time cycle (i.e., Satyuga, Tretayuga, Dwaparyug & Kaliyuga)… Hence, an elevated stage helps keep us happy & prosperous throughout the cycle of time!
Conclusion (Happy Laxmi Puja Wishes)
Hence today, let’s ensure an elevated swa-sthiti, by realizing ourself as a pure & divine soul… This automatically emerges divine virtues from within us, which also keeps benefitting others around, helping bring the divine land Satyuga once again!
Om Shanti!
