Spiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Dessert, Confectionary, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets

Spiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Dessert, Confectionary, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets imageSpiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Dessert, Confectionary, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets

Sweets play an important role in many festivals (like Diwali, Christmas, Raksha Bandhan, etc)

These sweets actually denotes the virtue of Sweetness… i.e., sweetness in our thoughts & words!

Sharing sweetness!

During Festivals:

  • We eat sweets… Hence, sweetness makes us the 1st to feel good inside!
  • We distribute sweets… Hence, sweetness is liked by all!
  • We share sweets… Hence, let’s share our sweet attainments through spiritual knowledge & meditation with all!

While those sweets are expensive, speaking sweet words is absolutely free of cost!

Although not everyone can eat sweet (diabetics, obese, etc), everyone can definitely speak sweet!

If we forget putting sugar while creating sweets, it tastes plain… Similarly, life is ordinary, without the virtue of sweetness!

How to become sweet?

Hence, let’s remain connected to God (the Ocean of Sweetness!), to remain full of sweet experiences the whole day!

Our words are automatically sweet… When:

  • Our state of mind is elevated, we’re content
  • We see the virtues & specialities of all
  • Where there’s true respect i.e., we understand others are also right from their perspective

Spiritual Significance of Sweets | Mithai, Indian Sweets, Diwali Sweets image

Sweets are basically a combination of flour ghee & sugar, all baked together… Similarly, any virtue (e.g., sweetness) is basically a combination of spiritual knowledge, meditation & determination to implement!

God says Speak Less, Speak Soft, Speak Sweet… Hence, when we aim to speak less or soft, our words are automatically sweet!

Even the last drop from grinding sugarcane is sweet… Hence, even if challenging situations come, let’s maintain our sweetness, since that’s our original nature!

Spiritual Inspirations from Dry Fruits

Some sweets (e.g. kaju katli, badam pak, anjeer barfi, etc) contain dry fruits… Hence, let’s also take some spiritual inspirations from dry fruits:

  • Like cashewnuts are pure white… Let’s become absolutely pure, clean & peaceful!
  • Like salt in pistachios, let’s flavour (i.e., enhance) the quality of lives of everyone around!
  • Almonds (soaked in water) are good for health.. Similarly, remembering our elevated self-respect points given by God (which are soaked in God’s love!), is very healthy for the mind
  • Walnuts resemble the brain… Hence, let’s keep churning good things (i.e., spiritual knowledge) in our mind, which keeps the brain very healthy!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Sweets)

Hence from today, alongwith eating sweets, let’s also ensure our thoughts & words are full of sweetness… This not only makes us feel very rich & good inside, but also heals the hearts of all… Hence our stage keeps getting elevated, also inspiring others around, hence we’ll together bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Many sweets are made of milk… Hence let’s also take some spiritual inspirations from milk

Let’s also take some spiritual inspirations from chocolate & ice-cream!

Spiritual Significance of Labh Pancham | Happy Labh Pancham Wishes

Spiritual Significance of Labh Pancham | Happy Labh Pancham Wishes

Traditionally, Labh Pancham marks the end of the Diwali holidays, & work starting again… Hence, it’s believed there’s labh (i.e., benefit) in starting new ventures on this day!

Experiencing labh (i.e., benefit) at every step!

Our thoughts at the start of the venture, influence the entire venture… Hence, let’s create thoughts like:

  • Success is my birthright
  • God is with me
  • I’m bound to succeed

to remain 100% sure of success always!

And success doesn’t necessarily mean situations being as expected… Indeed even becoming experienced, learning new things, etc is a form of progress & success!

And since challenges are bound to come whenever we start anything new, let’s empower our mind in advance (through spiritual knowledge & meditation)… So that situations only result in our benefit, rather than decline!

Indeed, God says every action performed in my accurate remembrance, is bound to give benefit at every step!

Celebrating Diwali spiritually!

Labh Pancham follows the festival of Diwali… Hence, if we truly understand & implement the Spiritual Significance of Diwali (i.e., we’ve used our holidays productively for empowering the mind), our whole life becomes full of benefit!

Indeed, when our state of mind is elevated, our actions automatically benefit us & others around!

The true meaning of Shubh Labh

The words shubh (i.e., auspicious) & labh (i.e., benefit) are usually found together… Hence, when our stage is pure & auspicious (shubh) from within, our actions automatically bring benefit (labh) to us & others around!

Many put the Shubh Labh stickers on their door… Hence, let’s also stick in our mind, the awareness of shubh labh (i.e., when our thoughts are shubh, the result is always labh!), to experience benefit at every step!

Alongwith the Shubh Labh stickers, we also usually find:

  • Footprints of Goddess Lakshmi… Hence becoming pure, divine & virtuous like Goddess Lakshmi!
  • Swastik… Hence, denoting making our swa-sthiti (state of mind) very pure & powerful!
  • Shree Ganesh… Hence when we become an embodiment of wisdom, we become Vighna Vinashak (Destroyer of our Obstacles)

Conclusion (Happy Labh Pancham Wishes)

Hence today, let’s ensure only the most elevated & high-quality thoughts, to experience labh (i.e., benefit) at every step… Indeed, let’s keep our stage so pure & auspicious, that we bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning

Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning image - A clean home!Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning

We clean the house, before invoking Goddess Lakshmi on Diwali… This represents cleaning the mind, to invoke the divinity within!

Cleaning the mind!

Cleanliness is liked by all… Since it’s related to the soul’s original virtue of purity!

The cleaning during Diwali is significant… Similarly this Diwali, let’s clean even the subtle shades of negativity from within us!

If a neighbour’s cleaning his house, we never put their garbage inside our house… Similarly let’s avoid looking at defects & weaknesses of others!

While cleaning, we open many un-touched closets, & remove unwanted things… Similarly, let’s ensure we haven’t held any matters of the past, in any section of our memory!

Spiritual Significance of House Cleaning image - 3D Cartoon Drawing

We use brooms, mops & cleansing agents for cleaning… Hence, let’s use:

  • The broom of spiritual knowledge… To clean the dust of any negative emotions & thoughts (jealousy, hurry, anger, guilt, etc) that may arise!
  • The mop of meditation (with the cleansing agent of God’s remembrance)… To finish all the vices & weaknesses within!
  • Then, the water of silence… To ensure we’re ready for the tasks ahead!

Spiritual Significance of Diwali Cleaning image

The home of the soul!

This body is also our house (i.e., the home of the soul)… Hence, let’s keep it very clean, pure & healthy!

In particular,

  • The eyes are the windows of the soul… Hence, let’s clean these, by only looking at virtues & specialities of all!
  • The ears are the ventilators (i.e., airway passages)… Hence, let’s keep these clean by avoiding listening to gossip, weaknesses of others, etc
  • The mouth is the door… Hence, let’s only speak sweet words, filled with wisdom!

The body is like our temple… Hence, let’s only put pure food cooked in God’s remembrance (i.e., prasad) inside it!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Diwali House Cleaning)

Hence today, let’s clean the mind of all unpleasantness, through the power of spiritual knowledge & meditation… Which automatically emerges the divinity (i.e., the constant experience of peace, love & joy) within, hence very easily bringing the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Previous Post: Spiritual Significance of Indian Rangoli

As part of our series on ‘Spiritual Significance of Diwali’

Spiritual Significance of Indian Rangoli

Spiritual Significance of Indian Rangoli imageSpiritual Significance of Indian Rangoli

Like the rangoli is so colorful, let’s fill our life with the colors of virtues!

The color of virtues!

Even a simple Rangoli looks so beautiful… Similarly, even a simple spiritual smile on the face (without any make-up!) looks very beautiful!

Making the rangoli is more enjoyable than just looking at it… Similarly, happiness lies in the journey of life (i.e., every moment!), rather than just at the destination (i.e., when we achieve!)

Some rangolis contain shapes of flowers, birds & animals… Hence, having true love & respect for all living beings on this planet

We need to be careful not to put our foot on the rangoli… Similarly, let’s never upset anyone’s happy & beautiful state of mind!

Many have a hobby of making Rangolis… Similarly, let’s make it our hobby of spiritually serving & benefitting others!

Many are experts at the art of making rangolis… Similarly, let’s become experts at the art of living life!

Designing a beautiful Rangoli!

Many love designing rangolis… Similarly, let’s design our most beautiful life, through the power of spiritual knowledge & meditation!

Making a rangoli first involves making the outline, & then filling it with colors… Hence, spiritual knowledge provides us the outline (i.e., direction) to our life, and then meditation empowers us to implement the same (i.e., fills our life with virtues!)

Today, there’re readymade rangoli designs available… Similarly, there’re many readymade meditation commentaries available, for having easy experiences in meditation!

Even Rangoli stickers are available today, which remain stuck for long… Similarly, let’s remain combined & connected to our Supreme Father God always!

Making a rangoli is a patient exercise… Hence, let’s patiently decorate our life with divine virtues!

Other Points

The outline around the rangoli makes the whole Rangoli look so much better… Similarly, the outline around our body is the aura (i.e., energy body, which is created based on our quality of thoughts).. Hence, let’s ensure a sparkling aura always, by creating & maintaining only the most elevated thoughts!

Rangoli making is a creative exercise… Hence, let’s always remember the key to creativity is a silent mind… Hence, let’s ensure the same by avoiding putting in anything negative, and only putting pure information inside us!

Conclusion (Spiritual Significance of Indian Rangoli)

Hence today, let’s design our most beautiful life, by filling it with the colors of virtues… And this not only keeps us very comfortable, light (& makes our aura powerful), but also comforts & benefits everyone around… Indeed, let’s become so powerful, that we constantly maintain the experience of these virtues (e.g., smiling face, sweetness, etc) in our life, hence becoming instrumental in bringing the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

The word rangoli rightly contains the word rang i.e., colors… Hence, you might also like to read my messages on the Indian festival of colors, Holi:

The Art of Earning Wealth + Blessings | Happy Dhanteras Wishes

The Art of Earning Wealth + Blessings | Happy Dhanteras Wishes imageThe Art of Earning Wealth + Blessings | Happy Dhanteras Wishes

Earning wealth is a very important aspect of life… Hence today, let’s learn the art of earning wealth + blessings!

The dynamics of earning!

The physical body requires food, house, etc (& we also have many other needs)… Hence, we definitely need to earn money to fulfill these needs!

And while working earns us physical wealth… Our way of working determines the energy we earn, which significantly influences our state of mind throughout the day!

Indeed, since wealth is physical, it can only give physical comfort (or temporary pleasure)… Hence, let’s also earn the subtle wealth of blessings alongwith, to remain very light & full of happiness the whole day!

And the one who earns blessings, automatically earns lots of physical wealth too!… Suppose an apple vendor recommends you not to buy from him today (because apples are not fresh)… Although he made a loss that day, we’ll (apart from giving lots of blessings) always go to him in the future, resulting in profits for a lifetime for the apple vendor… Hence, the one who earns blessings, earns physical wealth much more than his normal capacity!

Earning blessings also has numerous other benefits:

  • This dua (i.e., good wishes) acts as a powerful shield of protection
  • Builds our stock of elevated karma, hence creating the most illustrious fortune
  • Goes with the soul, hence also ensuring an illustrious destiny in our next birth

How to earn blessings?

It doesn’t require any extra time… Indeed, even just sharing smiles, sweet words & co-operation; earns us lots of blessings from all!

While doing business, it’s possible for both the parties to benefit.. Hence the easiest way to earn blessings is to look for their benefit also, in addition to just our benefit!

Working with peace & love (rather than with stress, anger, giving sorrow to others, etc)… Also earns us very good vibrations from everyone around!

An elevated state of mind!

All the above becomes natural, when our state of mind is elevated… Hence for this, let’s devote atleast few minutes of time daily, for listening to spiritual knowledge & meditation!

This is a very small investment, considering the immense benefits from blessings… And, we actually end up saving much much more time than that given!

Related: Finding Time for the Self

Conclusion (Happy Dhanteras Wishes)

Indian culture gives a very high position to wealth, by equating it with Goddess Lakshmi… Hence, it’s only this wealth (i.e., earned with complete honesty & by giving happiness to others), which can be equated to Goddess Lakshmi!… Hence, let’s keep earning this true Lakshmi (i.e., wealth + blessings) at every step, which keeps our state of mind elevated as well as benefits others, hence helping bring the divine land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!

Spiritual Significance of Diyas

Spiritual Significance of Diyas imageSpiritual Significance of Diyas

Like the diya is a flame on earthen vessel, even we’re souls in this physical body!

Hence, we’re spiritual diyas… Glowing in the experience of peace, love & joy!

Sparkling the light of soul-consciousness!

The flame is very bright, sparkling & beautiful… Hence, when we remain in the experience of our original virtues inside, even our face starts sparkling with joy!

Thus, to remain in the constant experience of peace, love & joy (i.e., to keep this diya shining always!)… Let’s:

  • Keep ourselves full of the oil of spiritual knowledge… Which keeps fuelling the awareness that we’re originally very pure, divine souls!
  • Keep our wick of purity erect… Since purity is the mother of peace, love & joy!
  • Even if fast winds (or storms) of situations & people come… Let’s remain full of stability & peace!

It’s considered inauspicious for the diya to doze off… Hence, let’s ensure full awareness & attention on our thoughts, to keep this flame of soul-consciousness lit always!

Indeed, when this diya starts remaining lit always… Our every day will become as happy & joyous as Diwali!

Connecting to the ever-shining flame God!

The diya needs to be lighted from an external source… Hence, let’s connect to the ever-shining flame God (who lights the flame of all!), to light our flame of soul-consciousness!

Indeed in Diwali, there’s one big lamp using which many small lamps are lit… Hence, God is that Deepraj (King of Lamps) who lights the flame of all of us Deepranis!

And when our flame is lit, we can light other diyas too… Hence, let’s ignite the flame of true peace, love & joy in all!… Thus, creating a rosary of diyas (i.e., Deepavali!)

And when everyone’s flame is ignited, the world outside gets transformed into Satyuga once again!

Diya means Giving!

The word diya means to give… Hence, let’s keep giving to all!

Although diyas are available in many different shapes & designs, their flame is the same… Similarly, even though we may be different in terms of age, gender, position, etc, originally as souls we’re one!… This awareness makes it very natural to keep giving love & respect to all!

Even the most beautifully designed but unlit diya seems dull compared to an ordinary but lit diya… Hence, let’s enhance our inner beauty of virtues, rather than just focusing on external looks!

Meditation Commentary (Spiritual Significance of Diyas)

In this earthen vessel (body)… I the diya… Sparkling in the experience of purity, peace, love & joy..

God Himself has said… Like me, you’re full of divinity & joy… Brightening my happiness even more..

He’s full of bright light… Of love… Filling me with His divine energy… Recharging my battery… He’s my dear Deepraj..

Will keep this flame lit the whole day today… Irrespective of anything outside… The power of God’s love is with me always..

Will keep sharing His love with all… Creating Satyuga again..

Om Shanti!

25 Reasons for becoming a Vegetarian | World Vegetarian Day quotes

World Vegetarian Day picture

25 Reasons for becoming a Vegetarian | World Vegetarian Day quotes

1st October is World Vegetarian Day (and 1st November is World Vegan Day)… Hence today, let’s explore 25 wonderful (& concise) points encouraging to become a vegetarian!

Medical / Physical Reasons

A very large research in California (comprising 96,000 people) concluded that… Vegetarians lived on average 7-10 years more than non-vegetarians!

Many researches show non-veg increases the likelihood of obesity, high sugar levels & cancer (in particular, colon cancer)

The pandemics COVID-19, Chicken Gunia, Swine Flu, Avian Flu… Have all arisen through consumption of animals by humans..

Characteristics of human body!

The physical make-up of the human body is highly unsuitable for non-veg… For example:

  • Carnivorous animals have a very short intestine length, to expel the highly toxic non-veg waste quickly… While the human intestine is quite long
  • Carnivorous animals have large canine teeth… In contrast, humans have very short canines
  • The stomach of carnivores have a lot of acid (to digest such food)… Humans don’t
  • The appendix in carnivores is quite active in digesting non-veg… In humans, it’s dormant

The protein in animals is very different from the protein in human beings… Hence, in a way, that protein is not suitable for humans!

Undesirable features of non-veg!

In addition, non-veg contains only protein & no fibres, calcium, etc… Hence, no one can be 100% non-veg i.e., a certain proportion of vegetables is always essential… But one can definitely remain 100% veg throughout life!

Non-veg also contains too much fat

Today, many injections & chemicals (potentially carcinogenic i.e., cancer-causing) are given to animals in captivity… And also to sold meat, to improve it’s color

Spiritual Reasons

When an animal is kept in captivity & slaughtered, it creates very strong thoughts & vibrations of fear, pain, revenge, helplessness, etc… Which gets absorbed in their body… Hence, when we eat it, we’re also consuming those vibrations alongwith, increasing the influence of these emotions in our life

One research even shows… That earthquakes are more likely near slaughter houses (due to these shock vibrations)!

We can never give ourselves life, through the death of another!

General Reasons

Non-veg means making our body a graveyard of dead bodies!

Even when our own family member dies, food is not cooked in the house… And how many dead bodies are cooked in our kitchen daily?

Hence, it’s observed that non-veg is merely a dependency for taste (i.e., for this 2.5 inch tongue!)… Hence, we can definitely leave it

Benefits of leaving non-veg

Non-veg is more expensive, hence we end up saving lots of money

Indeed, our willpower increases significantly, if we leave

By reducing the demand for non-veg, it’s a small but sure step in freeing society from non-veg!

Religious Reasons

Killing someone is never advocated by any religion… Indeed, we can’t aim to remain happy, by being the cause of someone’s pain!

We never eat non-veg during pilgrimage

In addition, we never offer such things to deities in temples!

Scriptures show very strong personalities (like Bhima & Hanuman) as 100% veg!

Souls in Satyuga were 100% veg!… Hence, becoming vegetarian is one of the greatest contributions in bringing the divine land Satyuga once again!

Conclusion (World Vegetarian Day quotes)

Hence today, let’s make the firm decision of switching to vegetarianism… To protect our physical, emotional & even spiritual health (i.e., by keeping our karmic accounts clean)… And to make a powerful move towards purity, considering that only purity is the key to real peace & happiness!… Hence, also becoming instrumental in bringing the 100% pure (thus 100% joyous) land Satyuga once again!

Om Shanti!
